Dateline: Saturday 26th March 2025. Day 4 Tasmanian Wonders Tour - Meet the Devils and Quolls

Two days have passed since I last posted. I left Hobart on Thursday 20th March and since then we have travelled anticlockwise around Tasmania crossing the Western Heights on our way for a two day stopover in Strahan.
This morning, we left Strahan at 8.00am local time, to spend much of the day in the Cradle Mountain National Park. Sadly the weather this morning was wet and misty so no views of Cradle Mountain but this afternoon the sun appeared for our visit to the Tasmanian Devil and Eastern and Spotted Tailed Quolls sanctuary and breeding centre.
This evening we have arrived in Burnie, one of two main ports in Tasmania, the other being Davenport, on the Bass Strait, more or less due south of Melbourne.
We have just had a delightful meal and a chance to meet 6 new friends.
Tomorrow we travel to Launceston for another 2 night stay.
So, this is another catchup post.  The fresh air seems to have got to me here since I'm pretty much exhausted by 9.00pm local time (8.00am UK time).  My other excuse is that the WiFi at this hotel is rather temperamental.  Hopefully I will get a chance tomorrow evening to fill in some of the gaps.
As for the photos these are of the top apex mammals in Tasmania - Tasmania Devils and Quolls. Both species are marsupials. More interesting facts about these mammals in a later post.
