Dateline: Tuesday 11th March 2025 05.00hrs (GMT +9.5hrs). Landed Darwin

I left London Heathrow at 0910 hours on Sunday 9th March arriving 13 hours later at Changi Airport Singapore.  After a 2-hour stopover I boarded my second Singapore Airlines flight to Darwin touching down on Monday 10th March at around 1600hrs local time to 30C tropical heat and high humidity!  Luckily, I managed to take off my sweater before leaving the aircraft.
A 20-minute taxi ride in bright sunshine with fluffy clouds and blue sky brought me to the Adina Waterfront Apartment Hotel.
Checking in took a little time since the hotel system was down and they were having to work of Excel Spreadsheets with no idea who was coming and when! I was able to give them the booking reference and all was well from then on.
My first impressions of Darwin - green, lush and hot but it is the rainy season!!  As my taxi driver pointed out "it's either dry heat or wet heat".
The photo is from the aircraft just before we landed.   It was a bumpy ride down through those fluffy clouds,
I should have posted yesterday evening but after a lovely meal Al Fresco at a local restaurant, fatigue got to me and by 2130 hrs I was abed and asleep!  I guess my body clock is still out of quilter since I am wide awake as I now post at 0500hrs on Tuesday 11th March 2025.
