Dateline: Tuesday 11th March 2025 Darwin Waterfront - A Meal at Snapper Rocks

As I write it's 0530hrs local time.  It has rained overnight and it's still raining.  My plan for today is to take the Big Bus Hop-On Hop-Off tour this morning and identify some attractions to visit this afternoon.  At 6.00pm I'm booked on a Sunset Harbour Cruise which departs from close to the hotel although there is a free shuttle bus that runs around the city every 10-15 minutes that stops at the hotel door!!
After a shower and snooze yesterday evening, I ventured out onto the Waterfront in search of some food.  I need not have worried there was a plethora of restaurants serving a wide range of cuisines.  I went for Snapper Rocks - that was the name of restaurant - and opted for my go to choice of local reef fish in beer batter accompanied by a rocket salad and some rather tasty pickles. Followed by caramelised banana with macadamia nuts and ice cream!
All eaten Al Fresco (See photo) with misters overhead regularly issuing a cooling spray over the terrace.
I was greeted in the friendly manner to which I have become accustomed in Australia by an Irish guy who had been here for a month!  After an excellent meal it was back to the hotel and the rest you already know.
So, you are "All Caught Up' as they say.
